Happy Monday

*long sigh* It's so good to be home. I admit to having a lot of fun last week at the RT Convention in Orlando, I will say that it's even better coming home. Of course, there's the work that I've got to catch up on, all the unpacking and catching up on the home stuff - including grocery shopping I don't trust my husband to do - and just the recovery time of being "out of loop" for a short time.

The best part? (besides the gorgeous male models wandering around all over the place) was meeting the authors that I interact with on the net.
Dakota Cassidy and Stephanie Burke are just as lively and snarky as they are online. They had me laughing so hard. That type of humor is truly a gift!
Koko Brown is beautiful and sweet. She looked awesome in her yellow fairy costume.
I had a lot of fun with Kiernan Kelly and my roomie, Isabelle Drake.
Michele Armstrong had no problem with my "hand talking". lol
Joey W. Hill was very down to earth and very friendly. Oh, and don't get me started on Lynne Connolly's wonderful English accent. I could really listen to her for hours.
There were so many people I met that it's hard to really list them all, but not once did I have a bad experience with any of them.
The hotel? I had a few minor problems at the beginning but they were taken care of quickly. Now, I heard stories about others' horror with the place, but I'll just say that for a hotel of that size, I have few complaints as I'm pretty easy and forgiving.
I took some pictures of course. :) But I havne't managed to upload them anywhere yet. That's for either tonight or tomorrow to do. Once I do, I'll get a link and let you know this week.
Now, off to actually get some work done. :D
Oh, and today was my day to blog over at Slash & Burn!

Tantalizing Tuesday

Anyone up for a game of tug of war??

Off to RT tomorrow! I'm sure I'll have lots of fun and plenty of pictures and stories to share. Have a good week!

Oh, and sorry about missing Fantasy Friday. I've been in and out of town and away from the computer and never got a chance to post. *sigh* Life is an adventure, for sure.

Tantalizing Tuesday

It's been a tough day for me. *sigh* We had really bad weather all day, which means that I had no net. Nearly everything I tried to do today turned out crappy (ever have one of those days?), then I cut 2 of my fingers making dinner - so there may be typos as they are typing fingers :S.

I'm really in need of a stiff drink. What about you?

Fantasy Friday

My surgery went well. Yesterday was my first day without bleeding and I'm actually able to blow my nose - softly, of course. However, today is the first day without pain meds and I'm feeling a little throbbing in the nose/roof of mouth area. Nothing bad, just a little annoying at times. I jut hate having my mind feel hazy from the meds. I have a follow up appt. with Dr. next week. I'm sure all will be fine.

Now, I'm stressing over what to wear to RT! UGH, I'm a shorts and t-shirt kind of girl, not so much "business casual". *roll eyes* Gotta find a compromise, I guess. Oh, and should I try and get a fairy costume for the Fairy Ball? :S

Have a wonderful weekend!

What do you do all day?

My wonderful husband sent this to me, thanking me for all I do as a stay-at-home mom. :D I could relate and got a great giggle from it.

What do you do all day?
By: unknown

If you're a stay-at-home mom, you can have days so busy you never sit down – yet when someone asks what you do all day, you can't really point to what consumed your time. Well, we have a humorous account of how one stay-at-home mom conveyed to her husband what she does all day.

"Her husband came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud. The front door was wide open and there was no sign of the dog. Inside the house, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded up against one wall. The TV was blaring a cartoon channel, and toys and clothes were everywhere and in the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, dog food was all over the floor, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She smiled again and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?'

'Yes,' was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it."

Moms, we salute you, and we thank you! Husbands and dads, if you are reading this and realize you have not thanked your wife for what she does at home every day, today is a great day to tell her just how much you appreciate what she does for you and your family.

Off line next week

After several years of suffering sinus infectios and nearly constant sinus problems (stuffiness and drainage), I've decided to finally get my diviated septum fixed. Those who know me know that if I'm reverting to surgery, then I'm completely at my wits end with all of this.

The surgery is an out-patient one that is scheduled for Monday. The doctor says that recovery time is about a week, but I'll have bleeding 2-4 days. He did warn that it would be painful and that some take the pain pills he gives and others don't. I have a pretty high tolerence for pain, but I don't know how this is going to be. Whether I take it or not, I most likely won't be on line until Wed or Thurs. I plan to kick back and chill, catch up on my tv shows that are on the DVR (I've got 10 eppies of Chuck and 4 eppies of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice I haven't had time to see) and do some reading.

I'll have my Tantalizing Tuesday post set to post on Tuesday, but if I feel up to messing on the computer, I'll leave a note.

New Contract

Loose-Id has offered a contract for Never Too Late!
No, this isn't an April Fools Trick. :D
I'm so excited about this. Never Too Late is Dakota Knight's story. Readers have met him in my Holiday release at Loose-Id titled A Gift Worth Sharing. Many people told me that they'd really like to see more on Dakota, so I sat down and let the muse work it's magic.

I'll update you as I get a release date and of course, looking forward to a cover.
I'll also post a blurb of the story in my newsletter that I'll be working on today and hope to get out tomorrow. So make sure you're a member of my newsletter group (link in sidebar).

Have a wonderful hump day!

Let go of unhelpful influences.
